  • History

The Tingley Band was formed in 1979 by the parents of children who played instruments at Westerton Road Junior School. The parents found that, outside the school environment, there was nowhere in the vicinity for the children to pursue their musical hobby and that once they moved to senior school they would lose their involvement with brass banding altogether. Tingley Band
With some local advertising, the enthusiasm of parents and children, together with the support of a few older musicians, the band was born.
