    Once again we had a fantastic turnout for our Slow Melody Competition.

    Final Results were:

    Open:

    Runner up: Roger

     

    Intermediate

    Winner:  Emma

    Everyone really enjoyed the concert at St Johns Wortley on 10th November.

  • Yorkshire Solo Championships

    Clifton & Lightcliffe Band and the Brighouse Lions are launching a new Yorkshire Solo Championship.

    Both organisations have run their own solo contest for a number of years and after discussions it has been agreed to join together in a new contest called the Yorkshire Solo Championships.

    This will be held on Saturday 6th October 2012 at Bailiff Bridge Community Centre, Victoria Road, Bailiff Bridge, Brighouse comencing at 10.00am

    Sections include
    Slow Melody
    11 years and under
    14 years and under
    17 years and under
    Open
    Veterans (over 40′s)

    Duets
    17 years and under
    Open

    Ensembles (3 to 10 players)

    Own Choice Solo (Not Slow Melody)
    17 years and under
    Open

    Fun Section

    Entry fees: Solos £3.50 – Duets £5.00 – Ensembles £8.00 – Fun Section £2.00

  • Lotherton Hall

    Today, the main band played in the grounds of Lotherton Hall. The weather was lovely and sunny, and many people came to have a listen. Everyone had a great time, and hopefully we’ll play there next time (and the weather be so good!)

  • Leeds Parish Church

    A small group of band members played at Leeds Parish Church to welcome in and out the congregation at their Help the Aged christmas concert. The band very much enjoy playing in these beautiful surroundings and have already been invited to play again next year!

    The band enjoyed a special night on Tuesday 8th November with 23 members competing in our Slow Melody Competition:

    All players did very well and I think everyone enjoyed themselves.

  • Training Band Concert – St Francis Primary School, Morley

    Tingley Training Band were delighted to play at the Summer Gala held by St Francis Primary School, Morley. Once again we were blessed by the weather – it had threatened to rain just before we started playing but held off until after the end of the gala.
